If you post your photos in high resolution or original sized versions to your site, and if you keep your text in descriptive original sizes, and avoid using SEO “spiders” to create your search engine crawling profile, you are gradually killing your SEO strategy and your business. Do not do this.

There are other areas where you can implement proven search engine strategies. Some of the best are local SEO, RSS feeds, blogs and local Google searches. Do not neglect any one of these. As mentioned before, stay on top of the trends to make your SEO strategies pay big dividends.

Off-Page SEO strategies include proper linking. Make sure you build links from high page rank authority websites that are relevant to your business. Social bookmarking and link building through article submission sites are some of the best off-page SEO strategies. There are also off-page seo strategies like keyword stuffing, creating internal links within your content, link swapping with similar websites, posting comments on related blogs, etc. These are not discussed here since they tend to be counterproductive to your goal.

On-Page SEO strategies are what comprise about seventy percent of the SEO work that you do. These strategies include on-site and off-page SEO work. An on-page SEO strategy is SEO friendly copywriting. This includes SEO friendly headers and meta tags. These help your search engine’s spiders and human readers understand what your page is about and what it intends to accomplish. Other SEO strategies that fall under on-page SEO are article submissions, directory submissions, guest blogging, press releases and more.

An off-page SEO strategy is getting your website indexed by major search engines like Google, Yahoo! and MSN. Before you submit your website to these search engines, make sure you analyze it thoroughly for title/ meta keyword relevancy, and that it has the expected number of backlinks. If not, make some changes, or ask a professional to do it for you.

The most important of all SEO strategies is backlinks. Backlinks are basically links from other webmasters who recognize your page and the services you provide on your webpage. Backlinks are extremely valuable to any SEO campaign. If you can get a high PR backlink, it’s considered a valuable link. Having high PR backlinks increases your search engine rankings and makes it harder for your competitors to remove you from their index. As you rank higher in the SERPs, your website will receive more traffic, which will lead to an increase in sales.

On-page SEO consists of many different things. Some off-page SEO strategies include: meta tags, keywords, titles, headings, and alt tags. Meta tags are used to put keywords that are relevant to your site right within the HTML coding of your web page. Keywords help your search engine optimization because it tells the search engine what your site is about.

The next SEO strategy is the actual content of your website. Content is king! Your website content will tell the search engines what your site is about and will determine its relevancy.
