When it comes to driving targeted traffic to your websites, SEO (search engine optimization) is a must. If your site does not receive traffic, no one will ever find it! That is why it is so important that your pages rank higher in the organic results of the major search engines, such as Yahoo and Bing. But how do you optimize your pages for these sites?
First, an SEO method (also known as search engine optimization plan or SEO plan) is the logical and strategic process of laying out, planning and implementing measures designed to increase search engine rankings for websites. Simply put: an SEO plan is the method you follow when you wish to acquire more organic traffic on your websites. Search engine results rankings are what tell people what websites are the best. So, how do you achieve first page rankings on Bing and Yahoo? The answer is SEO. Search engine optimization plan or SEO plan is very important to your websites.
Basically, there are two methods that you can use to optimize your websites: either way SEO or long tail SEO. Long tail SEO (as many people think of it as) is where you optimize your website for the search intent of your target keywords. On the other hand, long tail SEO is where you optimize your websites for the keywords that have less competition. Ideally, you would want to optimize your website for both, but due to time constraints I only optimized my websites for either way. In this article, I will show you which way to optimize your websites.
In my opinion, SEO for websites with long tail keyword phrases is much more effective. In simple terms, long tail keywords have a lower competition rate. This means that there is lesser chance of somebody else optimizing their websites for the same phrase. When I say lesser competition, I mean that there are less websites with that phrase in their URL. This will make it much easier for you to rank for that term. In order to rank for your keywords, you need to optimize your page experience and loading speed.
If you are doing SEO for websites that are not accessible through Google, you need to focus on two factors. First, ensure that your URL includes your primary keyword and second, ensure that your URL is accessible through other search marketing channels (like Bing and Yahoo). By doing SEO on accessible websites, you give them the chance to be discovered by more search engines because of the accessibility factor. When somebody searches “high ranking” for your primary keyword, your URL pops up in the search marketing channel.
How about SEO for non-accessible websites? In general, you don’t want to do too much SEO for non-accessible websites because you risk losing your ranking to those non-search engine friendly websites. Non-accessible websites, in most cases, contain irrelevant or old content and are built around generic SEO concepts. There is nothing wrong with this if you own the web page and have the budget to build a custom, high quality website around the concept. However, if you are just building a web page for personal use and you do not have the budget to hire someone to do SEO work on your site, then you don’t need to worry too much about it.
What about guest blogging? Guest blogging, although it was mentioned briefly above, can play a major role in off-page seo. Guest blogging allows you to insert links to your site in the body of your articles or blog posts. This gives you the opportunity to build your link building campaign.
Off-page SEO strategies do not end with building links. Because off-page optimization is a critical part of your SEO plan, you should not overlook internal linking still works. Internal linking still works regardless of what type of web pages you are optimizing. Even if your web pages are not optimized for keywords, internal linking still works.
